About Crystal
I have been an enthusiastic educator since 1995. As a parent, teacher, administrator, tutor, host parent, and trauma informed trainer, I bring many tools to the table. My speciality is helping students that feel like they are climbing a mountain, pick a path step step, skill by skill, on that learning journey. Writing in particular, is a personal skill that requires technique and voice. Helping students communicate their thoughts and ideas is a long term passion of mine. Teaching students in China helped me fine tune my ability to break down tasks and challenge me as a teacher to never stop growing myself.

It is my job to help students reach high expectations. Lessons are connected to student interest areas and skills build as students learn. I have experience in teaching students from 3 years old -12th grade in literacy, social studies and math. My experience in tailoring lessons to specific student needs and helping them gain confidence, as well as success, sets me apart from other tutors. Helping students tackle subjects that are difficult for them requires patience and determination. Helping students attack lessons, one skill at a time, to build the strongest learning opportunity is my goal, every student, every time.
