Whether I am preparing a student for a standardized test or a class assignment, the goal is to encourage the student to analyze subjects in a deeper, more critical manner. Rather than focusing on the answer or the end goal, I focus on the process, so that the student can more easily replicate it independently. By applying the Socratic method, I work to foster an environment between me and the student that encourages their independence and confidence.
For the past ten years, I have been tutoring on the high school and collegiate level. I began tutoring while I was at Lehigh University through a program called TRAC, where we were assigned to a class in the Business or Engineering school. In this position, I worked as a liaison between the students and the teachers and met with the students to assist their written work. The goal was to impart the significance of written and verbal communication across all professions. Later, after graduation, I have worked with several elite tutoring services in both New York and Los Angeles. I worked with students individually and in large groups to review courses and study for standardized tests.
