About Mark
My passion is preparing kids to succeed inside and outside the classroom. Watching students light up with excitment after gaining confidence in a skill or them showing me a writing peice that they are proud of writing makes my job easy and rewarding. Outside of teaching, I coach club and high school soccer, train dogs, and cook with my wife! I look forward to hearing from you!

As a tutor, my goal is to foster a supportive and engaging environment while tailoring to the specific needs of every student. I have taught as a general education teacher in grades 3-5 as well as an inclusion and ESOL teacher. My favorite content to teach is phonics! As a person with dyslexia, I know first hand how difficult it is to read and write with confidence. I learned how to read through the Orton-Gillingham approach. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach which is a multi-sensory phonics technique for remedial reading instruction. I have applied this approach to a variety of different settings which includes tutoring, special education, and ESOL intervention.
