About Serena
The invaluable essay skills I have gained through my own studies, paired with my experience of volunteering as a teaching assistant in lower school classes and being a peer mentor for two girls during their English GCSEs, I hope make me a great tutor for any student looking for a comfortable, stress-free environment where they can push themselves to achieve higher. I helped these students achieve A and B grades in their English coursework where they were previously working at a D grade level!

I will have a discussion about what they're learning and identify what they're struggling with so that I can understand their goals and see what I can do to aid them in achieving them. I will then have a read of some of their own work and teach them how to improve and, if they need, ask them to rewrite work so that they can continue to improve and use what they have learnt in practice. I will also use a mix of my own past work and knowledge to help them feel more comfortable with writing and to be able to view examples of a top quality answer.
