About August
I am a rising Amherst College freshman studying Education Studies, English, and Classics. In high school, I've maintained a GPA above a 4.0 while serving as a co-founder, co-president, and Latin and English tutor in a volunteer peer tutoring program I began as a junior. I incorporated over 25% of our upper school and middle school into my program, where students could elect to tutor students who sought support in subjects of strength to them. I also worked for over a year as an English tutor in ENGin, a program where Ukrainian English students can practice their English skills with native English speakers.
I achieved an SAT score above 700 in EBRW, and received awards on the National Latin Exam every year across high school, even as the youngest student in my class and at the highest level of study available at my school. Over the course of high school, I received 7 awards ranging in subject from language exams, writing skills, and general citizenship from my school, the state, and the National Junior Classical League.

As an English tutor, my skills include:
- Supporting students in diction and syntax, as well as grammar and spelling
- Helping students organize and structure their ideas in essay-writing
- Helping students build strong arguments in expository writing, supported with evidence
- Building students' confidence through successful writing, and by building a connection with students
Typical lesson plans will include analyzing assignment prompts together, brainstorming ideas, practice structuring writing, and, if applicable, review and feedback on writing.
I am open to teaching students from age eleven to eighteen, or from sixth through twelfth grade. For the best results, I ask that students have had some exposure to formal, persuasive, and narrative essay writing, but beyond that I welcome all levels of experience.
