About Judith

I love teaching Latin and Greek! It's all about meeting a new language and the culture, and it helps you appreciate your own language and culture better. I started teaching myself Latin when I was 14 and kept on until I could study it officially at uni, where I also picked up Ancient Greek and Classical History and Culture. I've had a part-time career as a Classicist for about 20 years and love sharing my enthusiasm with other people, young and old. Since I've returned to Australia, I've been sharing my passion for Latin, Ancient Greek and other languages around the Perth area and I'm now getting into online teaching. Meanwhile, I've kept learning languages and linguistics, and I can also tutor in Historical Linguistics and English as a second language. I've also enjoyed proofreading Latin, Classical Greek and English, so let me know if you need me to help you out there.

About the lesson

Learning Latin or Ancient Greek can be fun and it's not as hard as it's made out to be. Lessons are usually one hour long, but can be longer or shorter if desired. Lessons can be tailored for any level and any age. I have a PhD in Ancient Greek and studied 3 years of Latin at university. I have taught Latin and Greek at universities in the UK and in Perth, WA. I can also tutor in Historical Linguistics of the Indo-European language with an MPhil in Linguistics, and in English as a second language with a Cambridge Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults.
