About Zara
I’m a singing tutor with over 7 years of experience and a Licentiate of Music in Voice. I specialize in working with adult beginners, hobbyists, and anyone returning to singing after a break. My lessons are relaxed and supportive, creating a low-pressure space where you can feel comfortable and encouraged. I focus on breathwork, vocal relaxation, and posture to help you build a strong, healthy foundation. Mindfulness is an important part of my approach—I believe being present in the moment helps your tone and expression blossom naturally. I teach a range of genres including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult, tailoring each lesson to your musical tastes and goals. Singing, to me, is a powerful form of self-care, creativity, and confidence-building. I love helping people discover their unique voice and enjoy the process every step of the way. Whether you’re starting fresh or returning to singing, I’m here to support you with patience and positivity. My singing lessons are designed to support both the Soloist in Training and the Adult Beginner with a focus on pitch perfection, expressiveness, and building confidence. For the Soloist, we explore various song styles—pop, jazz, or ballads—to develop versatility and deepen musicality. The Adult Beginner benefits from familiar, comfortable songs that make learning enjoyable and accessible.
Pitch accuracy is key for both, so I incorporate ear training apps and pitch correction tools to help you hear and adjust your voice in real-time. Recording software lets you track progress and notice subtle improvements over time. Expressiveness comes from understanding the emotion behind each song and experimenting with dynamics, phrasing, and tone.
Confidence builds naturally when technique and musicality come together. We practice performance skills step-by-step, including breathing, posture, and connecting with the audience. Each lesson balances technical exercises with creative exploration.
Whether you’re starting fresh or refining your solo skills, technology and personalized coaching guide your journey. The goal is to make singing rewarding, fun, and empowering for every voice.
