About Tonia
My name is Tonia and I am currently studying English Literature, History, and Psychology in Year 12. I completed my GCSEs last year, receiving 10 8s and 9s, with a 9 in English Language and an 8 in Literature. I have always enjoyed English, especially at GCSE level. To be able to share my existing knowledge with students would not only be fun for me, but certainly helpful for students. Having worked with people younger than myself before, I know how to build a fun yet professional relationship with a student, in which I not only teach, but also give valuable advice, whenever it is needed. I have a brother currently in primary school preparing for his SATs, so I am familiar with the kind of content being taught in primary schools and how to handle it clearly. I also still have all my GCSE English revision resources, and I'm happy to share these if needed.

Lessons can be expected to be an hour long. If teaching GCSE English Language, we will go through each paper, focusing on one question per lesson, to familiarise you with what is expected of you and how to write a top-mark answer. For English Literature, we can go through your texts and analyse them, ensuring you know how to apply this to an exam. For primary school level, building a foundation understanding can be achieved through working through examples and teaching and developing key literacy skills. Having worked with children before, I understand how to build a professional relationship with a student, while staying patient and helpful, and always explaining so things are fully understood. Having recently done my GCSEs, I know the stresses and burdens, so I will be able to offer the best advice, while also developing knowledge and revision techniques to ensure the best performance.
