About Mitchell
My name is Mitchell Torres, and I’m excited to be your teacher. I’ve been working in education for over three years, teaching students from TK to 8th grade. I have a degree in Liberal Studies from Arizona State University and a teaching permit from the state of California. I love helping students learn and grow. In my classroom, I focus on creating a positive, respectful space where everyone feels comfortable and ready to learn. I use fun and engaging lessons, and I’m always here to support you.

I take a personalized, one-on-one approach to tutoring, built on years of experience working with K–12 students from diverse backgrounds. My method focuses on connecting English skills to real-life interests—when students care about the content, they’re more engaged and confident. Lessons are tailored to individual needs and can range from grammar and writing fundamentals to advanced literary analysis. Whether through gamified activities or focused instruction, I adapt to each student’s learning style. My goal is to make English accessible, enjoyable, and empowering for learners at any level, including EL students and ELD.
