About Subhokrity
Hello! I recently graduated from UC Davis with a major in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior and a minor in English. I’ve always been passionate about teaching, and I’m excited to continue supporting students in their academic journeys. As both a STEM and humanities student, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the role of writing and communication across disciplines. My experiences have given me a unique perspective on how English and writing shape understanding in both STEM and non-STEM courses. As an immigrant and non-native English speaker, I faced many challenges during my first few years in the U.S. Because of that, I deeply empathize with others who may be navigating similar struggles. I always strive to create a fun, safe, and judgment-free space where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing their concerns. I believe that every student learns differently — not everyone fits into a “cookie cutter” mold. That’s why I tailor my lessons to each student’s individual strengths and areas for growth. My goal is to help students build confidence and succeed in a way that feels natural and empowering to them.

- English is not my first language and so I understand the struggles of those who are in a similar position - have plenty of experiences with tutoring/lesson planning with high school EL students. - A thorough experience in creative writing, poetry analysis, basic essay writing and how to navigate the structures of essay to make a paper stand out - Experienced in test prep via multiple college exams and currently prepping for the MCAT. I also have a 4 on AP English. - I love teaching and so anyone is welcomed. I am happy working with middle schoolers, high schoolers and even college students. - Also, my plan and teaching will be holistic and tailored to my specific client and their needs + regular check-ins to track and help in their progress
