Methodology
My teaching method is to get to know and understand each other first and foremost. Especially in an online setting, it will be hard to establish a learning environment without comfort. My approach is to understand what the main struggle is. This way I can develop material that would benefit. Lastly, I will try and identify what type of learner my student is. This is important because every person learns differently. We all come to problems with different solution strategies. Some of us comprehend certain material while others don’t. Learning about these things will help build success. It will also make learning not as painful as it can be sometimes.

I am a current MFA student at Chatham University. I am a learner, teacher, writer, and reader. I have experience teaching in the US and West Africa! I received my BA from Washington & Jefferson College where I studied English & Conflict and Resolution.

While Emily was still at W&J she helped my oldest daughter with high school English. She was so passionate. She spent so much time learning with my daughter. Then, when Emily went to graduate school she continued to tutor in my family. I connected her to my sister and she helped with her son as well. Great teacher!
