About Julia

I am seventeen but have taken several college and advanced classes throughout my high school experience. I have been tutoring since I was twelve, and have been taught how to tutor well by my mother, who has been tutoring and teaching for almost three decades. Being younger can help me relate to younger students better and make it feel more like homework help than teaching. I am also very familiar with the subject matter because I took all these classes only a couple of years ago. I have always been advanced in Math and English, and I would love the opportunity to share that love with other students.

About the lesson

I love helping people learn and grow in the skills they already have and become confident in those that they are currently learning. For Math, I re-explain any needed concepts, work through problems together, and then allow the student to work on problems alone while I check them and give feedback on any repeated mistakes. For English, I love to ask questions to get students thinking more literary and help them make sense of different aspects of literature. I also help with essay writing as a proofreader, giving any helpful edits and feedback on repeated mistakes. I also help with understanding the structure of the essay and the specifics of how to write it.
