About Heather
I have been a tutor since I was in High School. I tutored while attending college as well and helped struggling classmates earn A's from our tutoring sessions and organized study groups. On average I teach around 22-26 students at a time in a classroom. When tutoring I prefer one on one or small group study. I find it thrilling to see how we can all converse and learn from each others different perspective on the subjects. As an educator I have mainly taught high-risk students with learning disabilities, this just means they learn differently from the auditory learner. All but one of students graduated, out of those who graduated high school, 75% went on to a college or technical school. They were able to learn valuable lessons with me, especially for how to take a test without having anxiety, and how to study for a test.

Specialized in teaching in non traditional ways by having props and helping those who are visual and kinesthetic learners. I enjoy thinking outside the box and try to bring that into teaching by helping my students learn in the ways they learn best in. The best experience of being an educator is seeing that spark in your students eye when they finally understand the concept being taught because it is taught in the way they can relate to.
