About Katherine
I understand, first and foremost, that not all reading and writing can be done for fun, and that literature, especially classics, can feel really overwhelming and forbiddingly dense. I want to work through that with you, to develop your understanding and the techniques you have in your arsenal!
I focus on the manifold ways that meaning can be teased out of text and establishing the context, structure, and tone to express one's ideas in a clear, impactful way. I'm always happy to work with you towards your goals, whether that's dissecting Dickens or writing a pitch-perfect term paper, in whatever way suits you best.
Literature can be for anyone, and essay writing doesn't need to feel like pulling teeth; it all depends on approach. I know that everyone can get something out of literature and writing, and I would be thrilled to work with you towards what it is you want to achieve.

Hiya! My name is Katherine, and I'm super passionate about reading, writing, and how those two subjects overlap. My specialties are critical reading skills, literary analysis, and effective essay writing strategies.
My lessons are online and best-suited for GCSE or A-level students. They will run an hour, though I am flexible about that, depending on your needs.
I am currently studying for a BA (Honours) in English Literature and Creative Writing.
