About Mars
My name is Amara, a lot of people call me Mars. I started reading (for fun) very early on. I always had a book with me when I was in school. As an adult, I still bring a book with me everywhere.
Aside from reading, I enjoy my personal journaling as well as writing music.
I am a total optimist. I really am a glass half full kind of girl. I have a lot of patience when it comes to anyone learning, will never judge. I love to make people laugh, and hope to teach someone something new for them.

Reading is something that broadens the mind to think creatively. Books are an escape into a world through multiple perspectives without actually being there. Writing can be academic, but it can also be a safe place to store your thoughts. When I was younger, my peers hated anything to do with reading and writing. I could never understand why when I felt like it was such an amazing experience that is personal and different depending on the person. I believe it’s because school teaches you that it’s strictly academic and that’s it. This is what made me passionate about inspiring kids to enjoy reading and hopefully not dread doing some personal writing. I believe it’s good for the soul.
