About Igor
Igor Goldkind is an author, poet, and independent scholar. At the age of 14, Igor served as a volunteer Science Fiction Coordinator for the now wildly popular San Diego Comic-Con. It was in this capacity that he met Ray Bradbury, whom he asked for advice about becoming a writer. Through Comic-Con, Igor also befriended Theodor Sturgeon and Harlan Ellison, two of his major influences. He worked in the British comic publishing industry and is best known for having coined the Graphic Novel genre as a global publishing genre. In 2016, his award-winning multimedia novel published by Chameleon Publishing IS SHE AVAILABLE?, broke ground in combining Poetry, Comics, Jazz, and Animation setting a new bar in electronic publishing. He continued to blend poetry with art in his new work TAKE A DEEP BREATH, Living With Uncertainty, an illustrated collection of essays, poetry, and short stories confronting the pandemic in personal terms. Igor writes and lives in the San Diego, California but misses the UK.

Learning to hear your own Sound. The sound of who you are. Not who you want to be, not who you think other people see you, not who you pretend to be and ultimately not even who you think you are. The sound of your Being.
The surrounding bell the cloister of our consciousness strikes to make your own uniquely individual sound. It may sound like other sounds to you but it is individuated. It is uniquely you, more than ‘yours’ In fact the your sound really isn’t yours, it belongs to everyone who can hear it. Your sound is you and the you that everyone around you hears. It’s important to externalize this sound so that you can hear it to, as others hear and experience you.
Language is comprised of the sounds we make to each other in order to be understood.
The physical sound of uttered words is just that: part of the physical world. Words when spoken are vibrations that reach ears. They are physical phenomenon in the material world.
The meaning of words also exists within the physical, material world but in a different way, bridging common inferiorities of experience. Meaning happens in the physical world because we occupy the physical world and meaning happens within us.
This is the No Interior – No Exterior Distinction Axiom. There is no interior or exterior distinction because your thoughts are within your mind and your mind is physically present in the world. The Inner/Outer worlds distinction is a deliberate illusion for the sake of social and cultural cohesive interaction. But it is outdated and badly in need of synthesis and trans-cendence.
The following Sound Therapeutic dissolves this illusion:
Person strikes as sound, like an OM, any sound they feel like making. First the person chooses a sound and the Poet encourages them to extend the sound, round the sound, repeat the sound until it resounds for the person.
Now focus on the sound one is making.
Focus on the sound and then on the rate of breathing making the sound. Focus on the source, the factory of the sound one is making.
Focus on the sound and the source on the found and once effortlessly constant, har the sound one is making as other hear it, as if you were observing yourself making the sound. Watch yourself, hear yourself making your sound as others hear you.
If this is easy and successful, carry on observing hearing yourself make your sound until it is effortless and easy.
Now cognitively, critically, take a step back and observe yourself observing yourself making this sound. This isn’t easy but takes No effort; it takes relinquishment to your own consciousness.
Conscious wants to expand by its nature but your ‘self’ must permit it the space to do so. Consciousness will fill any vessel you give it, but it must have a parameter to fill.
Listen to yourself through yourself, hear the unique sound that is your voice, that is you permeating through the levels of your own awareness and behold he dimensions of your mind unfolding like petals of a bloom.
