About Neringa

I fell in love with music in my teenage years. After being a part of many alternative scene local music bands I decided to give it a go and chose to study music. To be honest, it's been a rocky road, and along the way I had many doubts about my chosen path. But everything started to change when I discovered ways of mindful singing and learned how to listen to my body and voice. From that moment it's only been getting more and more interesting.

I’ve been teaching singing since 2016 in and outside the UK. I love working with people, helping them to achieve confidence in singing, and learning to appreciate their voice. Voice is a very delicate instrument, which reveals all about you. Getting in touch with it is all you need to surprise yourself with what it can do.

Being a performer keeps me on my toes and inspires me to explore singing every day. I sing in various settings and projects, as well as compose and perform my own music for voice and electronics. At the moment I am also a part of New Vocal Music Collective "Melos", where we collaborate with many modern composers, presenting contemporary music to the world.

Since 2020 I'm leading individual and group sessions to free the voice through breath work, movement, dance and the exploration of sound.

My education:
- BA (Hons) in Music Performance. Jazz Music, Singing;
- Teaching Qualification in Singing;
- Ma (Hons) in Electronic Music Composition and Performance.

About the lesson

For me, one of the most important things about learning music is exploring how to translate the energy and emotions through it. Therefore I pay a lot of attention not only to the technical aspect and performance, but also to how it feels when you sing.
Of course everyone is different, and I believe that individual lesson plan is the key to achieving the best results. We create it together with the student, based on their needs and wishes. Overall I'm basing my teaching on understanding how the voice works, how to use it to its full potential, and always looking for new ways to keep the learning process fun and enjoyable (sometimes it is easy to get exhausted by something you love).

Lessons involve breathing technique, body awareness, special singing exercises to acquire healthy and strong voice, working on chosen songs, and learning how to apply healthy and effective singing technique in practice.
Jazz improvisation is optional.

But most important value in Neringas teaching was her ability to motivate yet be a strict teacher in order to keep the education going when pupil wants to give up.
