About Shannon
I’m Shannon, a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Grade A HNC in Social Sciences. I’ve built my career within the NHS, supporting people through some of the toughest times in their lives and that’s given me a real passion for helping others learn, grow, and succeed. I know what it feels like to juggle exams, assignments, placements, and life outside of study, I’ve been there myself. That’s why my teaching style is down-to-earth, supportive, and practical. I make complex topics simple, give you clear strategies you can actually use, and boost your confidence so you walk into exams, OSCEs, or interviews feeling prepared. Outside of nursing and tutoring, I enjoy spending time outdoors whether that’s walking, exploring new places in Scotland, or just switching off in nature. I love cars, music, and travelling too, so I’m easy to connect with on a personal level as well as a professional one. Students describe me as: Approachable and easy to talk to. Who I Am Hi, I’m Shannon, a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) working within the NHS. With hands-on experience in inpatient care, quality improvement projects, and preparing newly qualified nurses for Band 5 interviews, I know how challenging (and overwhelming!) the journey can feel. I’ve been where you are and I want to help you succeed with confidence. What I Teach I specialise in: 🧚 Nursing Students → exam prep, assignments, essay structuring, OSCE revision, and Band 5 interview coaching. School, College & Uni Students → Biology, Health & Social Care, Psychology up to A-Level/Scottish Higher. Academic Skills → critical thinking, structuring assignments, referencing, and presentation skills. Critical analysis, and referencing (Harvard, APA). Study skills, time management & exam prep strategies. Confidence in presentations, interviews & academic writing. My Teaching Style Tailored to You → every session is shaped around your goals (exam success, assignment feedback, interview prep). Practical & Supportive → no jargon, just clear explanations with examples from real NHS practice. Confidence-Building → I don’t just teach content; I help you feel prepared, calm, and capable. What You’ll Gain By the end of our lessons you’ll: Understand your subject more clearly. Have structured notes and practical strategies to use.
