About Monet

As a queer artist, I have worked extremely hard to become an effective communicator in today’s digital age, workshopping how to best convey my ideas and perspectives through creative and analytical writing. I always strive to provide a trauma and consent-minded space for artists to grow and learn, while I act as your guide and mentor to break you out of your own feedback loop. How does your writing read to your audience, especially if they harbor alternative perspectives? How can you best reach an audience that may disagree with your position on a topic? I will offer assistance with formulating your sentences, conducting essential research, and proofreading/finalizing your pieces to best appeal to a large and variable audience.

About the lesson

Hello! Do you want to become a stronger writer, able to better convey your ideas in persuasive and argumentative pieces? I have been an honors English student for my entire academic career, even earning several award nominations for my writing. Now, as a creative professional, I still utilize my writing skills almost daily to best convey my creative ideas to potential clients and build up my brand as a queer artist.

I can help you learn and workshop how to effectively format your essays and writings/literary pieces, offering a constructive eye and guidance where needed. I focus my critique on grammar and effective idea communication, and will offer feedback on your work through both the lens of a mentor and a casual audience. I teach a very specific method of essay writing, which I have found to be the most helpful especially when writing to convey a specific point or to persuade an audience of an idea. This method, while especially useful in essay-writing, can also be used to better format professional writing pieces such as cover letters and personal statements. Along with offering constant feedback and critique, my aim is to give you the tools to think outside of your usual perspective to gain a sense of how your writing will be received by a variety of audiences.

I am especially interested in assisting Young to Old Queer folks expand their capabilities as communicators in a society that relies so heavily on digital communication in the modern era- effective idea communication can allow us to foster stronger relationships with each other, our communities, and the world beyond. Whether you are in elementary school, high school, college, or beyond your academic years, writing with me will provide you a unique opportunity to escape the feedback loop of your own mind in a consent and trauma-informed environment.
