About Desmond

With 10 years of teaching and live performance experience, my journey as a vocal coach is shaped by years on stage, in the studio, and in the classroom. I began performing in ensembles and choirs in my early teens and went on to study vocal performance and contemporary music with seasoned instructors. Since then, I’ve worked with aspiring singers of all ages—some aiming for music exams and others simply wanting to reclaim their voice after years of silence. I specialise in helping students understand their instrument—the voice—on a deep and holistic level. My teaching style emphasises both vocal health and emotional authenticity. You'll not only learn how to sing better, but how to feel better when you sing. I'm passionate about guiding singers through their doubts, fears, and technical plateaus into newfound vocal freedom. My background includes live shows across acoustic venues, musical theatre, and solo showcases. My students’ success is always my greatest reward. Whether it’s a first solo, a music school audition, or just a heartfelt song shared at a family gathering, each breakthrough moment matters. I believe everyone can sing—and everyone should. About the lesson

Singing lessons in Glasgow are designed to unlock your unique vocal tone while building a solid technical foundation. Every student begins with an assessment of vocal range, posture, and breathing. We work extensively on breath support using proven diaphragm-focused exercises that stabilise pitch and tone. You’ll also explore vocal registers—chest, head, and mixed voice—so that transitions between notes feel seamless and strong. Warm-ups and vocal strengthening drills are tailored to your goals, whether you're a pop enthusiast, aspiring theatre star, or acoustic ballad lover. In intermediate and advanced sessions, we work on detailed technique. This includes vocal dynamics, vowel shaping, emotional interpretation, and stage delivery. I help you break through limitations, such as vocal strain or stage fear, using real-world tools like recording feedback, video playback, and live performance simulations. Each lesson incorporates music theory elements like rhythm, phrasing, and intervals, ensuring your technique grows in harmony with your musicality. Song selection is collaborative—you'll sing what inspires you while challenging your skills. Beyond just hitting the right notes, you'll learn to live in your voice. We’ll cover microphone technique, live performance skills, and emotional storytelling through song. Whether you're preparing for auditions, performances, or singing just for yourself, you'll receive coaching that builds confidence and creative expression. Every student ends up not only a stronger singer—but a bolder performer who connects with audiences from the heart.
