About Kiley
Many years doing all manner of things, with writing and technology at the center. Using correct grammar and having a broad vocabulary have paid dividends in all areas of my life, and I teach intuitive ways to incorporate these elements into speech and writing. Writing accurate descriptions for legal documents, online ads, and listing profiles, etc. combine my technology and English backgrounds. I helped ESL students with business language by providing scenarios that correctly used American business jargon. I have worked with young people (what my mother used to call my peer group many years ago) to speak without "like, you know..." to improve school and job prospects. I am someone with a gift for language and a knack for interative learning. You know, the person who got 760 verbal / 540 math on the SATs, and is really tech savvy. That's me.

I am a pre-retiree with a "way with words". I teach all levels and tailor the classes to the person's age, level and interests. Retention is highest when learning is fun and useful, so each class starts with a topic relevant to the student, which I then use as the basis for instruction, embedding the learning within the topic. Writing an incident report, talking about yourself with an interviewer, vocabulary extension. Ongoing lessons will contain related information, so that nothing under the umbrella of what the student seeks to learn is overlooked. I have a great sense of humor so we will definitely laugh!
