About Luckmore
Am a motivational and experienced English teacher. I like this job because I like to read and write, I believe language is fascinating. Truly a deep-dive record of the human condition throughout time. I believe that expression of thought – effective expression of thought – is the only real superpower there is. Because teenagers are (agonizingly) fascinating. I learn a lot about myself as I watch them stumble into adulthood. Because NOTHING can happen in this world without ideation>verbalization>actualization. Verbalization being the link between the imagined and the realized. And another one more thing the person who saved my life as a teen was an English teacher. And I feel like I’m making a difference in the world when I go to work each day, not just making money. Moreover when I tell people I’m a teacher they INSTANTLY trust and respect me. Not sure how appropriate this is, but it has proven to be a constant since I became a teacher. And it’s nice. Because I feel like if a person can go out into the world being able to read and write WELL, nothing can stop them. Nothing. Because it affords me a work schedule (on site, anyway) similar to that of my two young sons’ school schedule: 7a-4p, M-F, weekends and holidays off. And finally, if I’m being totally honest, I LOVE summer vacation (and winter break, and spring break.

First step to get my students interested in learning English and to get them interested in me as a person not as a teacher, to establishing rapport between me and my student for helping my students to understand that English is not a tool for making a living or finding a job but an effective way for interacting with people from all walks of life within the English-speaking world and another thing to be patient and give them examples and some stories and games so that they will be interesting.
