About Mitch
Hi I'm Mitch! The first thing that you need to know about me is that I love connecting with people 1-1. It is such a gift to work with each new singer and see them build in confidence & knowledge, both in their voice and in themselves. My vocal development journey began at age 11 when I began taking classical singing lessons myself. At the age of 12 I performed for my first audience & fell in love with the power of music performance. Music moves people, but singing is especially unique in the way it disarms and charms an audience to feel differently. Since my first performance, I have dedicated my life to developing myself and a performer. This has led me to explore (and receive training in) a multitude of musical genres, including; Opera, Lieder, English Song, Musical Theatre, Folk, Rock, Pop, Jazz, Gospel and Swing. I graduated from the RNCM with First Class Honours in 2023, having studied Classical & Popular Vocal Styles. I have since performed in England, Germany & America as a concert soloist, wedding singer, session singer & choir member. Over the last 5 years, I have worked as a Peripatetic Singing Teacher at various schools in the North-West of England, coaching my students in their ABRSM singing exams. I am pleased to say I have a 100% pass rate with the average mark being Merit & Distinction. I continue to develop myself as a singer, regularly working with Wayne Ellington (The Voice UK 2018) and being a global participant for the Grammy award-winning Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square

- MY TEACHING VISION - My vision for every singer is to help them to become a confident, self-reliant vocalist who has a strong grasp of the WHAT, HOW & WHY of vocal technique. I firmly believe that technique is only a vehicle in helping you achieve a clear and compelling artistic voice. - WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM ME - I approach music education with a Growth Mindset. Meaning that in each lesson we will focus on BECOMING more knowledgeable, able and skilful singers. I like to have fun whilst working hard in our lessons. I approach each lesson and challenge with curiosity, with the understanding that through your commitment & my guidance, real transformation can happen. Having studied a range of musical styles throughout my education, I am always keen to help my students understand how to achieve a certain sound in a healthy and supported way. Therefore I am flexible in what style you choose to study. Above all, I love people and figuring out how they tick. Therefore, you can rest assured that your lesson will be 100% personalised & that I will be completely invested in guiding you in your vocal growth journey. - HOW MY LESSONS ARE USUALLY STRUCTURED- -Follow up & Warmups- In each lesson we begin by using vocal exercises & concepts to strengthen your vocal foundation. I may begin by following up on the task I set the week before to help develop a specific area of your voice. -Workshopping & Practical Application of Technique- We will then use the rest of the lesson to workshop a song of your choice, using the techniques we have learned to develop your performance to something which is technically strong & artistically compelling. -Commitment & Writeup- I like to finish each session by leaving my student a practical commitment to work on through the week. I will then send you a short lesson note summarising what we worked on in our lesson & what my expectation is for you over the week. -MY EXPECTATION FROM YOU- I expect each of my students to approach each lesson with an open mind, a desire to improve & a willingness to sometimes step out of their comfort zone. I also expect each of my students to be committed to working on the tasks set outside of lessons. Vocal transformation happens through consistency & active work between sessions. -AREAS WE MAY DEVELOP IN OUR LESSONS - Confidence Knowledge of vocal physiology Breath support Pitch accuracy Aural & Musicianship Skills Sight reading Vocal tone in chest, mix & head voice (falsetto) Stagecraft & Acting through song Artistic expression Vocal tone (thick fold, thin fold) Belt & Mixed Belt

Perfect! Mitch was great and professional, he did his best to pass his knowledge in a clear and friendly manner, I can definitely recommend him!
Perfect! Mitch has a natural ability to teach. He is an experienced professional who always answers my questions with great detail. He is capable of tackling original songs and covers through the perspective of allowing one's true voice to be expressed. I highly recommend trying his vocal lessons because I am sure you will be able to find a middle ground and stable foundation to discover your voice.
Perfect! I'd highly recommend Mitch's services. He has been teaching me for approx. six months now and I would struggle to fault the experience.
I'm an adult learner with ambitions to record alternative pop / rock music. I hadn't had any singing lessons prior to my trial session with Mitch and I'm really pleased with my progress so far. I started this journey genuinely worried I might be tone deaf and when within about 5 or 6 lessons I was able to get through a song in pitch it was a massive achievement and one that I think speaks volumes for Mitch's calibre as a vocal coach.
I trialled a couple of singing teachers earlier on due to some scheduling difficulties on but Mitch bent over backwards to resolve this and otherwise has stood a head above the competition, particularly in terms of his technical experience & knowledge, precision and enthusiasm.
I struggle with ADHD which poses challenges when it comes to focus and also with anxiety that affects my learning, which could have made this a daunting experience, and where other tutors after a while became quick to skip on, grew frustrated or took a view that my genre doesn't require strict precision when I was struggling to pick something up, Mitch has never grown complacent and has worked hard with me without fail to hone in note-by-note where I struggle in a way that is patient and supportive while still giving me the push I need to clear through these barriers, which I think is rare skill and not only has helped me learn but has boosted my confidence. The level of precision is instilling sound habits and while it can be tough doing things properly there is plenty of laughter as well - there hasn't been a lesson I haven't looked forward to, which wasn't always the case for the other tutors I trialled.
Lessons are tailored and collaborative. Some of my song choices are obscure which has never been an issue for Mitch, and while still encouraging a challenge, in instances where my choices have been overly ambitious based on my capabilities at the time Mitch has been knowledgeable and honest about this rather than leading me astray and allowing me to struggle with something unsuitable.
Generally I feel Mitch has taken to the time to get to know me which has, and continues to, help me develop.Perfect! Really great teacher, always strives to make me better even when I say I can’t do it. Couldn’t ask for a better teacher, would recommend!!
Perfect! I started having singing lessons with Mitch around a year ago. For context, I considered myself extremely unmusical and could not sing remotely before starting, so Mitch really did have his work cut out for him!
I can hear over the time we’ve worked together that my ability to sing has improved significantly and I’m more confident and capable of singing independently outside of lessons.
Mitch is an enthusiastic teacher with a great sense of humour who creates a relaxed and comfortable and atmosphere in his lessons making it easy to learn. Lessons have been structured around building a strong musical foundation and combining elements of theory with applied practical techniques to improve my vocal ability. A year in I still look forward to my lessons with Mitch and am very glad I made the decision to take up singing!Perfect! Has worked with a large range of voices and ages, his ability to describe concepts and get ideas into your head is unparalleled. One of the best tutors ive worked with

I have really enjoyed working with Mitch. He has helped me greatly to get my confidence in singing back after a break from lessons (I studied music teaching and then did some other things that weren't as deeply musical), as well as to muster up the courage to formally start my music business. He really cares for each person he works with and radiates joy and excitement in his lessons. He is very knowledgeable in technique and always has good ideas for both technical and creative exercises. I also really like his approach to exploring the story behind each song and aria. We have worked on classical, pop and musical theatre together, and I always had the impression he felt at home in each genre. I highly recommend him as a teacher.
I had singing lessons with Mitch for over a year as an experienced singer but not knowing what to do to further improve and saw huge progress in my voice working with him. He is an excellent teacher and was able to quickly identify techniques and exercises to improve all aspects of my singing. We were able to work on a variety of styles and broaden my repertoire while challenging my voice. Mitch is also very fun to work with and I highly recommend him!
Mitch has helped me improve a lot and I am way better than when I started
I found Mitch through superprof, and he's been great. He finds so many different ways to explain the same topics which is important for me in figuring out how to use my voice properly. I've only had a handful of lessons and he's made a massive impact in my vocal awareness and my quality.
Completely improved my singing and i feel excited for every lesson. Really great feedback as well as having a lovely and helpful attitude every lesson.
Mitch has a beautiful voice, is classically trained but also does jazz music and popular music. He’s very positive and friendly and shows a genuine interest in my child’s week to help create the bond, not just to get the lesson done. Mitch teaches my child on zoom.
Mitch has been my Vocal Coach for about 2 years now and he is such a joy to work with! Each (virtual) lesson is the highlight of my week, and not only is it filled with helpful exercises/tips to improve my singing technique but also a lot of laughter! He has a wonderful way of explaining things, especially Music Theory, and is such a patient and encouraging teacher - as well as his own fantastic musical talents! I would definitely recommend him :)
I took singing lessons with Mitch for over a year, they were honestly the highlight of the week! Mitch has a talent for being able to connect with his students and listened more than any other tutor I've ever known. Anyone looking for a really wonderful experience (either beginner or advanced) will find a tutor who will meet you at your level and adjust to your needs whilst stretching your abilities forward. I felt more mentally relaxed and confident after each lesson.
Would highly highly recommend.Mitch is a wonderful and experienced singing teacher!
He truly takes the time to listen and focus on the areas of improvement you need; helping to build you up into the best singer you can be.
He helped me fill some gaps in my knowledge and improve my tone, accuracy and performance - despite my performance anxiety!View more recommendations

Whilst I do teach a handful of students in person around Chorlton, Manchester and in my home, my availability is limited for in-person lessons. My preference is online lessons which the majority of my students find to be flexible, practical & effective.
