About Mike
I started out teaching in NYC Public Schools, I saw firsthand what a mess these were (and still are in many instances). I went into Advertising for 25 years, I bring a host of real-world experience with me from that. After I retired I went into teaching. Who would you rather have teach you? Someone who does it for the love of teaching or for the money? It is a passion with me. I leave it at that.

I don't have the same pat approach. First I listen and then teach with a plan. Each student is different. Today for example I had a student with Math anxiety. I could argue or insist he work, or... make the Math exercise into a board game, requiring correct answers on each box a student lands on. It worked, he got interested and that approach might not work with another for a various reasons. Math btw isn't my strong suit ELA and History are what I teach best.
