About Jordana

My name is Jordana. I'm a professional vocal coach and professional singer/songwriter. I've been teaching voice and songwriting on and off for about 20 years, but went full time a couple of years ago. I love teaching so much. It truly fills my cup to give back; To share with students what I've learned, discovered and experienced on my musical and creative journey. I'm currently in a
music duo "Moon and Aries" and we were named 2023 Band of The Year by 2 independent global music awards. Two of our songs "Traffic" and "A Love Revival" were nominated for song of the year with a few different award shows. And our music is on over hundreds of radio stations, made the top 100 numerous times in DJ pools, we've been on covers of popular music magazines and have accumulated over 5 million Spotify streams. We also have our music signed to publishers and record labels. I know what it takes, let me help you achieve your goals. I love giving and sharing positive energy and enthusiasm to support you in becoming your best self and artist. I've studied under some of the best vocal coaches, artists and mentors in Canada/ USA/ Europe. I've also been involved with many musical theatre productions and sang in jazz clubs. Having a background in guitar, ukulele, violin and piano, I can assist you with composing your own music. And if you have the feeling deep inside your bones to take this magical ride to a place in the entertainment industry, I'll be your guide to get you there. Or if you just want to sing better at home, karaoke and with your friends, I will help you discover your talent and true, real voice. I can even help you write your own songs. I teach all styles, from RnB, pop, soul, jazz and musical theater, etc. There is so much beauty in transforming and becoming whatever you wish to be. I'll be there for you. Having a career in the industry, I do know what it takes. If you want a career in music, or you only want to sing for friends, family or fun, I can assist in unraveling a talent deep inside of you, just waiting to be unlocked, unleashed and appreciated.

About the lesson

My goal is to help you discover more of yourself. Your voice is a major part of your self expression and vocal lessons with me, will allow you to uncover new qualities and experience yourself in a special way.
Singing is not only for entertainment, it's for meditation, comfort, mental health, physical well being and just adds more confidence to your life in so many positive ways.
I have the ability to tune into your strengths and weaknesses. I can hear what's whole and what's missing in your voice. I want to help make your voice HOLISTIC. Tap into it's full potential in a healthy way with all of the right conditionings.
With having my own singing career, needing to compete with the best, and also having years of students, I have fine tuned my skills. I take a lot of pride in pulling the best version of you into the spotlight.
I will take your voice to places you never thought it could go ! High and low and everything in between. Let's get that breathe work logged in, bring out your true tone, expand your resonance and with cut through notes like a singing sword. Along with these technical aspects of vocal training, I'm big on bringing out the emotional side of you and your voice in full alignment.

Perfect! She used numbers to teach me. It was on a scale from 1 to 10 where 10 is the best, and 1 is the worst. She told me that one sentence I sang was an 8, and that sometimes Taylor Swift sings at that level. I cannot think of anything better to motivate, and inspire to maybe have a career in singing. The lyrics that I made up about overcoming fear scares some people. About a month ago I was going to hire a singer. I asked four people who have singing as their career, and even though I was going to pay them $80 an hour they all said no, and they would not tell me why. Here is an example, ''Embrace fear because we can learn so much from it.'' She is an amazing teacher, so I rode my bicycle up to Black mountain to pay her $350 in cash. I had so much pain in my legs that I felt like screaming, but it didn't last long because I had some cream that took away the pain in five minutes. I bet she is a wonderful mother too because she talks about her three boys quite a bit. Very few teachers share their personal life. When you are in the service industry showing your true self is extremely important. I will take lessons from her up until I leave to go and live in Cuba. Please be kind to this lady because she is one in a million. Thank you so much for hiring her. She is generous because she only charges $35 an hour. To me giving me a low rate is like she is being humble which is a trait that almost all people love. I hope the other teachers are not jealous of her because that might cause problems to Jordana.

Jordana was very patient with me and over time managed to get some decent tones out of my raspy old throat. I play the guitar and joined a few "jam sessions" and I now get compliments about my singing voice.
