About Teresa
Hello! My name is a Teresa. I have a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minors in Business Writing and Rhetoric. Additionally, I am a first-generation American, college student and the firstborn in my family. That means a lot of things: it means that I have edited resumes and essays for family members since I was in middle school! It also means that I was tasked with teaching my kid sister to read, tutoring my older cousins in writing essays while I was learning myself, and generally bringing home the practical knowledge that I acquired from college, through resume-building workshops and interview training. Essay writing and tutoring are two skills that have been married in my life for a long time - which is good news for you!

In my six years of tutoring, I have helped students hone their essay writing on variety of subjects: from political theses and philosophical arguments, to microbiology and anatomy research papers. A session with me would typically be divided into 10-15 minutes dedicated to talking about your main concerns with the paper, and then allocating the next 40-45 minutes to fixing those concerns. That can look differently depending on what needs fixed. If the issue is more ground-level, like a grammar or sentence structure concern, that will look like 45 minutes of raking through your paper together and manually fixing errors. If the issue is more overarching, like a general paragraph structure issue, we would go over the flow of your ideas more broadly so as to be able to address everything.

- Classical literature (i.e. Beowulf, The Odyssey, Cyrano de Bergerac)
- Modern classical literature (i.e. Fahrenheit 451, To Kill a Mockingbird, Ishmael)
