About Jodi

With over two decades of experience teaching middle school, I bring a proven track record of helping students succeed. My approach is rooted in patience, expertise, and a deep understanding of how to connect with learners at their level. About the lesson

I believe in meeting each student where they are. I begin by assessing their strengths and areas for growth, then tailoring lessons to their specific needs.

For reading, I use strategies like guided reading, annotation, questioning techniques, and vocabulary building to strengthen comprehension and critical thinking.

For writing, I guide students through the writing process: brainstorming, organizing ideas, drafting, revising, and editing. I emphasize clear communication, strong structure, and correct grammar.

What sets me apart as a tutor is:

24 years of classroom experience working with middle school students of all abilities

A deep understanding of how kids learn, and how to make reading and writing less intimidating
