26-year-old College Grad Tutoring SAT / ACT / GED / Math / English in Camas/Vancouver Area

Methodology

I like to approach each new student as a partner in learning. I do not know everything, but if I cannot answer a questions I will work diligently to find the answer. Students respond when I meet them on their level and treat them with the respect they deserve. I like to have fun and work hard at the same time. Students will find that I am not a taskmaster. I only ask that they treat me with respect and actively participate in the learning process.

Background

I'm a professional tutor with over two years of experience in teaching ESL, Math, English and Social Studies. My background as a Professional Tutor qualifies me to work with students from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. In the Spring of 2016 I earned my Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a minor in English. I am responsible for assisting students with their needs while helping them understand and focus on their schoolwork. I specialize in tutoring English, Writing, Math (up to Algebra 2) and Social Studies. I have also successfully helped several students meet their goals on their SAT, ACT and GED tests. In my time as a tutor I have had the pleasure of seeing students grow and achieve their goals which they had previously believed to be out of their reach. I look forward to working with anyone who is willing to challenge themselves and become a partner in life-long learning.

Details

I ask that I be compensated $1 per mile for every mile I need to travel over 15 miles. Any distance I travel under 15 miles need not be compensated. I also ask that cancellations take place no less than 24 hours in advance of our session. I will need to be compensated for the entire session if that sort of cancellation takes place. I make exceptions for illnesses and vehicular trouble.
