About Maryam
I’m an empathetic and patient individual who is ready to help you succeed! I value building connections with students to provide a positive, safe, and encouraging tutoring environment. I have worked with elementary aged students for over 5 years both in person and online. I build a healthy bond with my students that focuses on them, their interests, and goals. This creates trust and confidence in the tutoring session. My students know then can rely on me to help them and maintain their confidence and dignity.

My tutoring methods utilize creativity and interactiveness to really practice the skills “hands-on” and make it a positive experience.
I have experience in utilizing Common Core and general math and literacy skills, particularly for lower elementary.
My tutoring process begins with asking the student how comfortable they feel with the presented skillset. I then assess the students abilities with a few practice problems. The next step is to address mistakes and problem areas in a gentle and encouraging manner that will build the students confidence while correcting and strengthening the skill to increase likelihood of its retention.
I like to explain and practice skills through interactive platforms. I particularly like using Google Slides so that the student can better see and visualize problems while also interacting with them to practice.
