About Piper

I have been teaching singing for over 6 years, and I hold a Licentiate of Music in Voice. My work mainly focuses on adult beginners, hobbyists, and those who are returning to singing after some time away. I understand how daunting it can feel to start or restart, so I create a low-pressure and encouraging space where learning feels safe and enjoyable. Breathwork, vocal relaxation, and posture are central to my lessons, as they lay the foundation for healthy and confident singing. I also bring mindfulness into music-making, helping students become more aware of how their body and mind support their voice. Tone development is another key part of my teaching, and I use practical exercises to help students discover their natural sound. I teach a range of genres, including Jazz, Folk, Blues, and Contemporary Adult styles, so learners can explore music they genuinely enjoy. I believe singing is not only a skill but also a form of self-care, creativity, and confidence-building. Many of my students find that lessons give them a space to relax, express themselves, and reconnect with their love of music. No matter your background or experience, I am passionate about helping you discover what your voice can do. Whether you are starting fresh or picking up where you left off, your singing journey is always welcome here—at any age.

About the lesson

For advanced teens, my singing methodology focuses on shaping musicality, strengthening pitch control, and deepening emotional expression. I encourage them to explore a wide range of genres so their voices stay flexible and adaptable. Confidence is built through regular performance practice, where students learn to connect with songs both technically and emotionally. For quartet players, I emphasise blending, harmonising, and listening with precision while still nurturing individuality within ensemble work. Exercises on intonation, balance, and dynamic shading help them develop trust in their own sound as well as in the group. Both personas work on vocal flexibility through scales, improvisation, and cross-genre challenges, ensuring their voices stay agile. Song adaptability is developed by reinterpreting pieces in different styles, from classical to contemporary, giving them versatility. Modern tools support progress: DAWs for recording and playback, vocal apps for pitch tracking, and metronomes for rhythmic consistency. These tools give immediate feedback, helping students monitor growth and refine their skills. Above all, I make the learning process motivating and practical, so students don’t just sing notes but embody the music. The goal is to equip them with the confidence and artistry to thrive as both soloists and collaborators.
