About Gracyn

With over a decade of extensive musical training encompassing piano, voice, violin, guitar, and ukulele, Gracyn boasts a rich history of musical experience, both as a performer and as an educator. Gracyn started teaching ukulele in 2015, and since then has expanded her teaching to encompass many disciplines. She is currently the choral artistic director at the Hollywood Youth Orchestra. An award-winning opera singer holding a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Vocal Performance from Carnegie Mellon University, she also earned a K-12 Music Education Certificate issued by the state of Pennsylvania, extending their skills to include string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments. Beyond instrumental instruction, Gracyn brings a wealth of experience in teaching various musical disciplines, including music theory, music history, music technology, ear training/solfège, and eurhythmics. This diverse foundation enables her to approach music education with a holistic and enriched perspective. Outside the realm of teaching, Gracyn is an active and versatile performer, engaging in opera, theatre, and film/tv. Additionally, Gracyn is a skilled songwriter and producer. In addition to her studies of Vocal Performance and Music Education, Gracyn completed minors in music technology and drama.

Embracing a student-centric philosophy, Gracyn tailors instruction to each individual's musical aspirations. Their teaching methodology revolves around the students' personal goals as musicians, fostering a dynamic and evolving dialogue. Gracyn actively collaborates with students in selecting music aligned with their preferences while building essential skills. In essence, Gracyn’s teaching philosophy encapsulates the idea of making learning enjoyable for students, all the while building a strong foundation of fundamental skills. Enthusiastic about teaching students of any age, Gracyn is dedicated to nurturing a lifelong passion for music in every student.
