What are the courses in the Arabic language?

The courses and levels of a language are usually divided between beginner, intermediate, and advanced. At a beginner level, level 1, or A1, Arabic students usually learn the alphabet, basic words, and self-introductions like saying your name, age, where you’re from, and so on. Students are also exposed to basic reading and writing concepts. The next level, usually known as level 1.5 or A2 is a reinforcement for students at the beginner level. They are taught to construct basic sentences, read paragraphs with basic language, and so on. Next, students pass to the intermediate level, level 2, or B1. At the intermediate level students are expected to learn how to write more complex sentences, understand longer conversations, and read long paragraphs. From then, they pass to level 2.5 or B2 where they strengthen their listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills, as well as understand key aspects of the Arab world and the Arab culture. Finally, there’s the advanced level, level 3, or C1. Students at advanced levels are fluent speakers and can understand complex writing, write in-depth text, and understand an advanced conversation. The last level is 3.5 or C2 and this level is for students who can consider Arab as a language they dominate and are ready to study or work in the language with no problem.

Is learning Arabic useful?

Learning languages can be one of the most beautiful skills you can develop as a young person because it will allow you to travel the world with no language barriers. Being able to communicate with people from different parts of the world will help you broaden your horizons and grow both personally and professionally.

If you are on the fence between learning Arabic or another language, here we tell you why Arabic is the best choice. First, learning Arabic will make your profile stand out in a very competitive professional scene. Arabic is a high demanding language and adding it to your CV will have a lot of headhunters fighting to get interviews with you. If you learn Arabic you will learn the official language of 20 countries, which means that you will have the opportunity to travel and see all of these places without language barriers. If you study international relations, learning a language like Arabic will open many doors of opportunity for you. Learning Arabic also represents learning about a beautiful culture and you could encourage a greater understanding of Arab culture in the United States. Finally, you will have the opportunity to become an ambassador of your country abroad and help build a positive view of the US.

What is the fastest way to learn Arabic?

You’ve probably heard that to properly learn a new language the best way to learn is by immersion. There is nothing like living in a foreign country and having to practice your language skills in day-to-day activities. Grabbing public transportation, going grocery shopping, going to the movies, or partying with friends are few of all the opportunities you’ll have to practice the language if you live abroad. However, don’t forget that learning any new language is challenging, and even more so if you will learn a language, like Arabic, that has a different alphabet. You can’t compare learning French with learning Arabic because even though both will be challenging, the student who learns French doesn't have to learn new letters and shapes. To properly learn Arabic we recommend you live abroad but also, it would be better if you hire a private tutor during your time abroad. You can find Arabic tutors right here on Superprof and start your journey even before you go abroad, or if you choose not to go. Make sure you find a tutor that is prepared to teach students of all ages and levels. This way you can guarantee that the tutor will be a support for you and your learning process.
