Find a badminton coach in Gresham

Badminton is easier to learn when you follow a clear progression from grip to game play.

• The grip comes first, with a relaxed handshake hold for forehands and your thumb flat on the handle for backhands.
• Footwork drills teach you to reach the shuttle early with lunges and chassé steps instead of running.
• The essential strokes are the clear to push your opponent back and the drop to bring them forward.
• Game play: learn rally scoring to 21 points, the service rules and simple tactics for singles and doubles.

One-on-one lessons help you move through each step faster and with better technique.

Badminton coaches in Gresham typically charge $60/h.

This rate varies depending on several factors:

• Your skill level and how fast you want to progress
• The coach's track record with students like you
• The duration and frequency of lessons
• The court location and any court rental fees

Many coaches offer package discounts when you book several lessons.

Starting badminton at 30 is completely realistic, whether you want to play for fun or join a club.

• Skills like the clear, the drop and the net shot improve with good repetition, not with an early start.
• Your stamina grows week after week, thanks to the short bursts of effort in every rally.
• Doubles is a great entry point for adults, with shorter movements and plenty of social play.
• Safe habits protect your knees and ankles, starting with a dynamic warm-up and good lunging form.
