Find creative writing tutors in Flora

Creative writing classes cover the core techniques writers use to bring their ideas to life on the page.

• Character development: building people with clear motives, flaws and goals that readers care about.
• Plot and structure: shaping a story with rising tension, a climax and a satisfying resolution.
• Point of view and voice: choosing who tells the story and how they sound on the page.
• Editing your drafts teaches you to cut weak passages and sharpen every sentence.

Working with a tutor means you progress at your own pace, from your first short story to a full manuscript.

A private creative writing lesson in Flora costs approximately $20/h.

Several factors influence the price:

• Your current level (beginner, intermediate or advanced writer)
• The tutor's experience and publishing background
• The package you choose (one-off session or regular lessons)
• The lesson format (online, at your home or at the tutor's place)

Online lessons are often more affordable while remaining just as effective.

Writers can explore a wide range of creative styles depending on what they want to express.

• Fiction: invented stories such as short stories, novellas and novels.
• Poetry: writing that relies on rhythm, imagery and sound to create meaning.
• Creative nonfiction: true stories told with literary techniques, like memoir or the personal essay.
• Screenwriting and playwriting rely on scenes and dialogue rather than long description.

One-on-one sessions let you experiment freely and get honest feedback on every draft.
