My approach is to explain a method of approaching a problem (rather than simply doing example problems), explaining why each step is necessary. With practice problems or existing work, I minimize my intervention, allowing room for the student to reason on their own, offering guidance when necessary or if a concept hasn’t quite clicked yet.
