About Guy
I truly believe what Henry Adams said : "A teacher affects eternity ; he can never tell where his influence stops."
In 1986 I was chosen as The National Teacher of the Year and was honored at the White House by then President Ronald Reagan.
When asked what my philosophy of education was I simply replied that I wanted to teach others in the same way I would like to be taught. Most importantly, I want someone who cares about me , someone who knows their subject matter, and someone who knows how to communicate that subject.
I strive to be that teacher who affects eternity.

I like to discover what interests the student and use that curiosity to fuel learning.
For instance, if a student likes music I will use that interest to teach elements of poetry.
What sets me apart from many other teachers is my desire to find the unique talents and abilities each student possesses and in the most caring of ways help develop those talents.
This basic philosophy behind my lessons is applicable for all grade levels.
