About Oscar
My name is Oscar and I’m a writer/actor from South London. I graduated from Durham University in 2022 with first class honours in English Literature, before going on to Drama school at Mountview. I am an avid reader, film-goer, fantasy and sci-fi nerd as well as a football fan. I wasn't a big reader as a kid so I myself am proof that you can fall in love with literature at any age. I believe in making literature accessible and opening it up to anyone. I frankly think the way it can be taught in school is dry and boring and I want people to share the love I have for the subject and find their own voice within it.

I like to make my lessons as active and engaging and personalised as possible. I believe in nurturing my students’ own instinctual responses to texts/art first and then moving from there. I achieved excellent academic results from GCSEs all the way to degree level so I also know how to train for exams most effectively and write in the most marked friendly way. But I chiefly want to share my passion for the subject of literature, because I believe finding the joy in the subject leads to the most interesting, long-lasting and effective results and career.
