About Daniel
I have just finished my PhD at the University of Sussex in Brighton. Before that I obtained a first class honours in Physics at Imperial College London. Throughout my academic career I have privately tutored, run small classes, helped friends and family with revision, and tutored university students. I taught for three years at a swim school so have been practising teaching from the age of 15.

Having studied Maths and Physics for 8 years at university level, I have a thorough understanding of both subjects at and beyond A-level. In that time I have taught students from Key Stage 2, GCSE, A-level, and tutored university students. I can also teach adults with an interest in Maths, Physics or related fields. My approach to teaching involves setting a comfortable environment for the student so they feel like they can ask questions! The next stage is to assess the current understanding of the student to tailor the lesson to their needs. Finally, my strong understanding of the subjects means I have a variety of explanations for each concept which allows me to find the one which resonates best with each student. My lessons will typically be 1 hour long and I may set small tasks to complete in 10-20mins to check understanding.
