About Savannah
I am a friendly, professional maths tutor with 6 years of experience teaching students from primary level through to A-Level. I hold a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Finance from Queen’s University Belfast. I am passionate about helping students build confidence and self-belief in maths, as I believe this is key to long-term success. I bring a warm, engaging, and structured approach to every lesson, ensuring students feel supported while making real progress. All sessions are carefully prepared in advance using targeted questions and past paper practice, so our time together is focused, efficient, and effective. My approach to maths tutoring is clear, supportive, and confidence-building. I am extremely passionate about helping students develop self-belief in their abilities, as I believe confidence is one of the biggest factors in success with maths. I bring a warm, engaging, and encouraging approach to every session, creating an environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Maths can often feel intimidating, so my goal is to make lessons feel approachable, productive, and motivating. I take time to understand where each student is currently at, identify gaps in knowledge, and build strong foundations before progressing. I focus on explaining the why behind methods, not just the steps, so students gain a deeper understanding and can apply what they’ve learned independently. My teaching methodology includes: Carefully planned lessons with prepared questions and past paper practice, so no time is wasted Step-by-step explanations using clear, simple language Guided practice followed by independent problem-solving Exam-style and past paper questions for students working towards tests Regular recap to reinforce understanding and track progress By preparing materials in advance, we are able to make the most of our time together and focus on what will have the greatest impact for the student. Lessons typically last 1 hour, which allows enough time to: Review previous topics Learn new material Practise questions Address any areas of difficulty Experience and Qualifications: First Class Honours degree in Mathematics and Finance from Queen’s University Belfast 6 years of experience tutoring maths Experience teaching students from primary level through to A-Level I am patient, organised, and experienced at explaining complex concepts in a clear and accessible way.
