About Lucas

About Me :) I’m passionate about language tutoring because I’ve seen how mastering Spanish skills can visibly boost pupils’ confidence in the classroom and in exam settings. I enjoy helping students realise that Spanish isn’t just about memorising vocab lists — it’s about building skills that make them feel expressive at speaking, allow grammar to truly 'click', and give them the confidence to overcome imposter syndrome and act with confidence in upcoming exams. Having worked with young people from a wide range of learning needs, styles, and backgrounds, I understand that every student has their own unique challenges and stresses. My approach is to build these into tailored strategies, ensuring lessons are supportive, adaptable, and motivating. Experience and Qualifications: Recent UCL graduate (First Class Honours) with C1-level Spanish proficiency. Extensive experience mentoring and tutoring students aged 11–18 through summer schools, one-to-one support, and university ambassador roles. Strong academic background: 4 A*s at A Level and 8 As at GCSE. Experienced in guiding students towards high performance, both academically and personally. Skilled at creating positive, confidence-building learning environments where students can thrive.

About the lesson

Tailored approach: Every student begins with a short skills and needs assessment so lessons can be fully personalised to their goals, exam board requirements, and learning style. Structured yet engaging lessons: A balance of consistency, rigour, and interactive activities to make Spanish learning both effective and enjoyable. Focus on all skills: Reading, writing, listening, and speaking are integrated into each session to build confidence and exam readiness. Typical lesson length: 50 minutes (longer sessions available for exam preparation or intensive revision). Suitable for: GCSE and AS Level students (Years 9–13), from those seeking to improve general confidence to those aiming for top grades. Flexible learning environments: Lessons available in my home, your home, or online, with a supportive and professional atmosphere in every setting.
