About Alex
I am currently studying Graduate Entry Medicine, having completed a BSc in Human Biosciences. My long-term goal is to train as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, combining medicine and dentistry with a strong interest in surgical sciences.
My own academic journey was not without challenges. Earlier in my education, I struggled with certain subjects and developed structured study methods tailored to how I learn best. Through consistency and refinement of my approach, I went on to achieve top results within my cohort.
I am now passionate about helping students who may find traditional teaching methods difficult, focusing on clear explanations, exam strategy and building genuine confidence in their abilities

Alex used to tudor me GCSE chemistry, I went from scraping a pass to getting a grade 8 in GCSE, I could not praise Alex enough, he made chemistry become one of my best subjects in the space of 8 months. The main thing I will always praise Alex is how he explained everything as he debriefs everything in an excellent understanding.
I started having tutoring sessions with Alex during my GCSEs after he was recommended to us by a family friend. At the time, he had just finished his first degree and was going onto Graduate Entry Medicine, and his strong academic background in Chemistry really stood out. Now that I’m in my first year of A-Levels, I can honestly say that working with him made a significant difference to both my confidence and my GCSE results.
What I appreciated most about Alex’s teaching style is how interactive and tailored it is. He doesn’t use a generic, one-size-fits-all approach — instead, he adapts each session to suit the individual student. I’m a very visual and hands-on learner, and he quickly recognised that. He used diagrams, step-by-step explanations, active recall, and plenty of exam-style questions to make sure I fully understood the content rather than just memorising it. He also focused heavily on exam technique, teaching me how to structure answers properly and pick up marks consistently — which is so important in GCSE and A-Level Chemistry.
One thing that really stands out was when we were doing Organic Chemistry. I used to get completely confused with things like reaction pathways and all the different conditions you had to remember. It just wouldn’t stick in my head no matter how much I revised. Alex went through it with me slowly and properly explained why things happen, instead of just telling me what to memorise. He’d test me on it in different ways until it finally clicked. After a few sessions, it actually started to make sense, and I felt way more confident answering those 6-mark questions in exams instead of just guessing.
I would highly recommend Alex to any student preparing for GCSEs or A-Levels. He is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely invested in helping his students achieve their best.View more recommendations
