About Deborah
My name is Deborah Awe, and I am currently a 1st year med student at Sheffield.
I really want to teach as i love working alongside people to nurture and help them grow in both ability and confidence - I especially love working with younger children, coming from a home where i have 2 younger siblings, looking after smaller people is almost like second nature!
In my own experience I've had excellent tutors and teachers in school - and i appreciate how much their support and guidance have contributed to my growth. These teachers and tutors would listen to me and provide me with constructive feedback, qualities I now display when I teach and tutor.
I also understand the importance of having a good grounding in these STEM subjects. As someone studying medicine, I want to inspire others to not be afraid to take the harder route, but to embrace it and see it as a blessing, rather than a curse.

Hello there! My name is Deborah Awe and I teach Maths and the Sciences for younger children all the way up to A level!
My lessons are aimed at all ages to instil a love of the STEM subjects; this is crucial in order to be able to achieve a good grade at these areas in the near future!
I currently tutor 3 A level students and 2 GCSE, who under my tutoring have been receiving straight A grades in these subjects!
I like to teach by understanding what my student does/n't know - this can allow for me to home in on the areas they are struggling with, making the subject much easier for them.
My lessons typically run between 30 minutes to an hour, depending on what the student needs, and what kind of topic area we are working on. I am very flexible with the lesson length so do let me know in advance!

Deborah has taught my daughter piano for the last couple of months and let me say that she has become an amazing player! Deborah has helped my daughter become so confident in her piano playing and has helped teaching the basics so she doesn’t feel overwhelmed when they are learning new pieces!
