About Mylo
My name is Mylo Michael. I studied at Eton College and am now a first year undergraduate at Cambridge University studying Engineering. A-levels are still fresh in my mind and I felt as someone who doesn’t like leaving things to chance, I probably overprepared for my A-levels and I’m keen to share my methods and resources.
I’m not all about academics. During upper sixth, I kept up my sports, specifically football, which I’ve taken to a university level now, still attempting to manage that work-life balance. At Eton, I was one of 4 head boys which meant lots of interaction with both parents and younger students and so I’m confident with my communication skills.
From my experience, the best teachers aren’t the smartest and although I do know my A-level content well, I think my best attributes come down to organisation and enthusiasm.

I have a huge number of A-level style questions as well as different pages of notes from very detailed to very condensed (all digital). In my opinion, once all topics are understood, A-levels are really just about checking your notes, timing yourself on some past paper questions and repeating and repeating until it’s a breeze. I feel comfortable in being able to go over any topics in detail, explaining shortcuts to get faster and trying different routes to answers which work best for the student. Along with that, we can work through the large number of resources I got together when it came to my revision last year.
GCSE revision could work similarly and of course I’m open to suggestions from the student as to how they’ve found tutoring works best for them. I’m also open to engaa and pat tutoring (oxbridge engineering entrance papers) for anyone very ahead of the game.
I’ve got a tablet and laptop so working over zoom or teams works well as I can use both screens and show how I’d go through questions in real time on my tablet. Otherwise, I'm happy to travel to tutor, provided it is within 20km of Newbury
The length and frequency of sessions is entirely up to the student and is probably best worked out after a session or two. I'm happy to have a free online session as a trial.
