My method for teaching meditation is to first practice some gentle asana (yoga poses) to ready the mind and body for stillness. I encourage any comfortable seat, whether that's in a chair, on the floor, laying down, or wherever else. Depending on the theme of the meditation, I may suggest a specific posture. We may also practice pranayama (breathing techniques) to encourage the mind to enter a specific state of awareness. The meditations I specialize in are: body scans, chakra meditation, guided imagery, loving kindness, and general relaxation.
In our first session, we will discuss your comfort and experience level as well as your goals for your meditation practice. We will close with a brief meditation so you may get a feel for my style of guiding and decide if it's right for you. In subsequent sessions, we can work towards a goal, work through some emotions, practice the art and techniques of meditation, simply practice relaxing, or any other goal you would like to work towards. I tailor the classes to suit your needs and meet you where you are.
I am a 200hr Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher. I have been teaching at a local studio for about a year, and I currently teach two gentle classes per week where I incorporate guided meditation and pranayama techniques into the practice. I have been told by many of my students that I have a soothing "yoga voice" and that the meditations soothed their souls. My favorite part of teaching class is when it's obvious that everyone feels dreamy after having been in a meditative state.
Bryanna is a loving, dedicated, highly intuitive teacher in any medium. Despite the challenges of teaching yoga via video chat, she rises to the challenge every class and provides a comforting, calming, strengthening class that I consider a highlight of my week.
