About Amy
I study modern languages at Durham University and I'm about to start my second year, where I will also be picking up Catalan as a beginner language. I believe it is important for everyone to speak at least two languages as they can open doors for you in the world of employment. I chose to study languages because I struggled as a young girl to cope with not being able to speak the languages of the other kids my age when I travelled abroad with my family, and I didn't want to be stuck like that for the rest of my life. I want to help other young people learning another language and teach them that being bilingual is a great asset.

I achieved grade 9 in both French and Spanish at GCSE, and an A in both at A Level. I haven't tutored before but I did take part in a 3-week programme with the university to help with speaking classes for GCSE students in County Durham. Lessons would be about an hour long, and I'd work on whatever skills the student most needs to practise, whether that is pronunciation, grammar, learning vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
