About Dev
Hi!
I am currently studying Aerospace Engineering at University. As a final year, the content is heavily Mathematics based. The fundamentals from GCSE and A Level helped me understand my course better. Hence it is quite important that you understand what you’re doing now.
As I am a student, I understand that there is confusion amongst certain topics within GCSE. These can often be hard to understand first time, hence why I believe it is important that the topic is taught by theory first, thus giving the student relevance. One of the best ways to understand a topic for me is to practice questions. Questions should progressively increase in difficulty, and eventually they will be completed in maximum efficiency.
Another useful way of learning content is always asking questions. These can be about the question itself or just to broaden your knowledge on the subject.
When teaching I try not to go off on a tangent and always focus on the content taught. Sometimes it can cause more confusion when trying to explain a topic and talking about other things. Hence, I will always ask if there are any questions throughout teaching, to make sure there are no gaps.

I normally deliver my lessons by asking what's supposed to be covered, where if theres nothing specifically I give questions or provide a topic myself.
If there are any questions the student struggles with, we go through the topic together. I make sure to teach the foundations before I go straight to the topic.
I help my students by making them confident in their ability and making sure they ask questions. If they are confident in their ability, they will do great in their exams which is the end goal.
I normally measure progress by asking student to recall certain stuff that was previously taught. If they don't recall then I make sure we go back, this is to be confident within the topic.
I offer exam questions, my own questions, exam practice and interactive learning, hence suitable to teach all ages.
It is important for me to make sure the student engages, where if they’re not I try to add activities to encourage students to engage.
