About Vasilis

I am a Theoretical Physics undergraduate with a deep passion for mathematics and physics. My love for maths has been with me since I can remember, and going through secondary school and college I wish I had a tutor to help me excel even further in this field. I have previous tutoring experience through a volunteering programme my college set up, and from the company MyTutor. This taught me valuable lessons on how to approach tutoring and seeing my student succeed was a very rewarding feeling. What I have learnt about maths and physics is you must make mistakes to learn. One of my professors always says “Do not worry about making mistakes, I have made every single possible mistake there is, that is why I am an expert” I want to help my students feel comfortable in making mistakes but also learning from them, which I can guarantee, will make them an expert on any topic. Most importantly I want to state that I was recently in your exact place, preparing for my GCSEs and A-Levels, so I know what it takes to best prepare you for your exams.

About the lesson

My lessons are typically 1 hour long and will be tailor-fitted for each specific student. I will engage with the student and hear what they have to say about the maths and physics topics they find difficult or want an extra push on. My lessons will be for all ages up to and including A-Level Maths, Further Maths, and Physics. I will keep track of each of my student’s progress and provide them with maths and physics problems of their corresponding exam board structure. These questions will be designed by myself with the aim of making my students think first before answering any questions. I will show students a different way to look at mathematics and physics; a way of simplifying and constructing easy methods to solve even the most difficult problems. This will be further useful for students that want to take Maths or Further Maths at A-Level or students who want to take Maths or Physics degrees. For those that don’t, do not worry, it’ll help you smash your exams too! My lessons will start with a quiz on the previous lesson before jumping into new content or going over anything that the student has not fully understood yet. Every lesson will be set at the student’s pace, there is no such thing as a correct way to learn and I recognise that every student’s way of learning is unique.
