About Ammar

I am currently reading for a BSc in Biochemistry at the University of Warwick, where I am on track to achieve a First Class degree overall. Through my own academic journey, I have developed a clear understanding of what it takes to excel in the sciences, and I am keen to share those insights to help students navigate their GCSEs with genuine confidence.

Outside my university studies, I have gained strong, practical experience in the scientific field. I led a research project that was awarded joint second place in the Imperial College Science in Medicine Teams Prize, and I have also completed clinical placements in haematology and pathology departments. These opportunities have allowed me to see exactly how textbook theory connects to real-world applications. By bringing this practical perspective to my tutoring and focusing closely on core exam board requirements, I aim to provide structured, encouraging support that helps students thoroughly master GCSE biology and chemistry and reach their full academic potential.

About the lesson

As a passionate online instructor, I am dedicated to designing impactful lesson plans that fully support students studying for their GCSE exams, regardless of whether they are taking the Triple Science or Combined Science pathway. I know how important it is to find the right fit for your education, so I am happy to offer our first session free of charge.

My approach to teaching revolves around fostering a practical and hands-on learning environment. Rather than expecting you to simply learn marking schemes by heart, I focus on cooperative analysis and unpacking sophisticated scientific ideas into clear, intuitive concepts. I employ a range of tools, such as structural diagrams and vivid visual walkthroughs, to ensure I can accommodate your unique learning style and make dense biological pathways or chemical concepts far simpler to master. I also regularly assign and review homework to continuously optimise your performance and ensure no gaps in your knowledge.

A routine session lasts 60 minutes, allowing us to spend the opening 10 minutes cementing prior knowledge, the middle portion mastering the core subject, and the final 15 minutes focusing on exam techniques and constructive feedback. For demanding revision seasons, we can also arrange longer 90-minute or 120-minute sessions. Ultimately, each tutorial is crafted to connect textbook definitions with authentic scientific reasoning, giving you the tools and confidence to reach your target grades.
