About Debbie
Hiya! My name’s Debbie, I’m a final year student at the University of Warwick studying Biomedical Science. I’ve been achieving a 1st across my degree and received 3x A*s at A-Level, 8x Grade 9 and 2x Grade 8 at GCSE. I’m a motivated student with a passion for science. I believe you can get so much from this wonderful subject, and I love seeing people realise just how beautiful the world around them, and their own bodies, are! I’m excited for you to see what you’re capable of!
I have been tutoring at secondary level for a number of years, including all three sciences, Maths and history, although my expertise is primarily in the sciences. I have been accepted to complete my PGCE to become a qualified teacher, and have begun teacher training modules during my undergraduate degree. Through this, I’ve been able to apply many different teaching theories and practices into my tutoring. I have worked with many syllabuses and exam specifications, as well as students of all different abilities and confidences.

Positive reinforcement and self-confidence are the cornerstones of my teaching methodologies. Too often, students are made to feel that they’re ’not enough’: believe me, I will never think that of you! As a tutor, my job is to help you to see what you’re already capable of, to encourage you to do your best, rather than to lecture you. I believe that every student is a person first, and student second. School is so important, and I can help you to succeed, but nothing is more important than your well-being and memories you make in this time! As a tutor, I will work with you to find what works best for you. Everyone has different learning styles; something that can’t be accommodated in the classroom. I’ll try to ensure that your revision works for you, not you having to work for it. I’m looking forward to meeting you, and can’t wait for you to see what you’re capable of!
