About Rym
Social Sciences are a drug and I give these courses to teach you to savor the pleasure of arguing and writing papers until you become addicted.
Hola! I am a third year Franco-Lebanese-Algerian student at Sciences Po Paris, in an exchange program with UC Berkeley (in California). I am passionate about research, debates and argumentation, and I'm planning to do my masters at Sciences Po's doctoral school next year. Having passed the scientific baccalaureate with specialization in mathematics (high honors), a bachelor in social sciences with a major in "Economies and Societies", and an exchange program in the American system, my academic background is multidisciplinary and I am used to adapting to various methods, disciplines, examination procedures and even to different languages and academic systems. I passed the international examination procedure for the Middle East Mediterranean campus of Sciences Po (an oral examination in front of a jury), I acquired the "Sciences Po method", as well as that of American essays and papers, the French baccalaureate methodology of course. I previously gave private lessons in Maths for the 12th grade "scientific" level, and I am very enthusiastic to tutor in disciplines that fascinate me: History, Geography, Economics, Sociology, Geopolitics, Political science, and / or preparation for the Sciences Po entrance examination.

Rigor, nuance, and especially problematization. A good essay is an essay that argues, that proves one thesis and deconstructs others. It's easy to list facts and examples. The real intellectual challenge is to address the problems, the contradictions between different theories, within a same theory, but also between theory and practice. Discussing means adopting a thesis, a position to solve an issue, and deploying robust arguments based on examples, with nuance and rigor to show its infallibility. Regarding the form of the course, I am very flexible. We will tackle your difficulties whatever they are, and we will organize ourselves together according to your needs and requests. I am comfortable in French, Arabic and English. So you choose!
